Tanks, which were often installed decades ago, can present corrosion if not regularly checked and maintained, and, consequently, this can lead to fuel leaks.
Even if small but prolonged over time, fuel losses can clearly give rise to pollution of the subsoil and groundwater with very serious consequences, both from an economic and criminal point of view.
INTERECO SERVIZI offers a complete range for managing
underground fuel tanks, both when they are still in operation and when they are no longer used.
In particular, tanks that are still in operation must be subjected to periodic seal checks with Unichim approved methodologies and to
scheduled remediation interventions, such as vitrification.
On the other hand, tanks that are no longer used must be removed according to a precise protocol that provides for physical disconnection from the delivery/supply lines; verification of the absence of explosive conditions;
internal remediation with disposal of cleaning residues and waste; extraction and disposal of the tank, possible remediation of the surrounding polluted land; management of the administrative process with the control bodies. Permanent safety measures will be implemented through inertisation if the
unused tanks cannot be removed.
